5. App permissions
The Bondhu Android app requests the following device permissions, each tied to a specific feature:
- Camera — to take a photo directly for your profile or a chat message;
- Photos/Storage — to choose an existing photo to upload;
- Location — only used if you turn on nearby/location-based matching;
- Notifications — to alert you about new matches and messages.
You can review and change these permissions at any time in your device's app settings.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.

- You can edit your profile information at any time in the app;
- You can block or report another member directly from a conversation or profile;
- You can request a copy of your data, or request deletion of your account and data, by contacting us;
- You can turn off location access at any time from your device settings.

Bondhu is intended only for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will terminate it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
